The People's House

Creating an award-winning companion site to an immersive museum experience.

The People's House is a new immersive experience from the White House Historical Association. I led the visual design of the project, expanding their existing brand assets to build out the new site.

Their site has been designed to offer a glimpse of what's available for visitors at the experience. It needed to embody the spirit and reverence of the White House and the thousands of people responsible for its day-to-day operations.

To achieve this, I created colorful patterns that bring elements from the White House walls to the site. Wallpaper from the Blue Room, Green Room, Red Room, and Oval Office is abstracted into repeatable and reusable patterns. A stone-like pattern completes the set, alluding to the White House walls and colonnades.

Exhibit summary pages provide details on what visitors can expect and can even act as a wayfinding tool for visitors in the experience.

Built as a set of templates and components with variable color options, the site can flex with changing content needs for The People's House.
