Redesigning an international think tank for increased presence.

The Center for Advanced Defense Studies is a think tank with a robust research arm and an audience with a high appetite for data. Their previous site delivered words to the people who needed them, but didn't reflect anything about C4ADS as a brand; their organizational viewpoint was not present.

A significant amount of C4ADS research and reports is about the movement of people, products, and animals around the world. Because of that, I chose map and atlas motifs to build into their redesigned site. Topographic-style line patterns underlie a grid pattern in notable areas like page heroes and CTAs. Because C4ADS so often is piecing together parts of a larger puzzle, the grid pattern is often incomplete; C4ADS insights are helping build the full grid.

In addition to increased branding presence, I provided multiple template styles for C4ADS posts and reports. This allows them a range of ways to present content with or without an image, and increases their editorial authority.
